Immune Response | Ways to Boost Your Immune System & Low Immunity

If you have low immunity there are a number of ways to boost your immune system and immune response that many people are not aware of. Relatively recent scientific research shows one of the ways to improve your immune response is connected to your mind.

For thousands of years and up to the present day, healers, medical doctors, and medical science have shared the importance of maintaining a positive mental and emotional state of being for your health.

In today’s scientific world, it’s already well-established that a positive mental and emotional state can improve your body’s ability to heal itself. And there is one area of scientific research that has made some very interesting discoveries when it comes to your mind/body connection.

That is in the science of psychoneuroimmunology.

 

What Psychoneuroimmunology has Discovered

Psychoneuroimmunology is a relatively new field of science which gives us a more in-depth look at how the mind, immune system, and immune response are linked.

By looking at some of the discoveries made in psychoneuroimmunology, you can reach a deeper understanding as to how your healing system works, because your immune response is, of course, an important part of that healing system.

The efficiency and balance of your immune system are the most important self-defensive mechanisms in your body, and having an efficient and balanced immune response plays a pivotal role in determining the effectiveness of your body’s overall healing system.

And the field of psychoneuroimmunology is helping to show us one small, yet significant part, of how your body heals itself.

  • It has been discovered that specific white blood cells, which are immune system cells that protect your body against foreign invaders, have specialized receptor sites for neurotransmitters existing upon them.

Neurotransmitters are chemicals that enable the transmission of chemical messages from nerve cells in the brain, to another nerve cell in the body.

  • It has also been discovered that tiny nerves are connected to the lymph nodes.

What this means is that the science of psychoneuroimmunology has discovered concrete evidence that your immune system and lymph nodes, which contain white blood cells, are directly connected to your nervous system and your brain.

  • It has also been discovered that you have specific white blood cells that produce powerful hormones, which means that your immune system talks to your endocrine system and directly participates in your emotional experience.

 

What are These Three Key Discoveries Showing us?

Well, it used to be believed that your immune system worked independently of your brain and if your body was exposed to pathogens or invaders the immune system would respond independently of your brain.

What these three discoveries now prove, without doubt, is that your mind talks directly to your immune system.

So we now have detailed, in-depth, scientific discoveries that show you just how important your state of mind is.

Your state of mind, meaning the thoughts, emotions, feelings, attitudes, and self-talk you choose to express, all have a direct influence on your immune response.

And that’s really amazing and so important to remember because your immune system protects you from foreign invaders such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, toxins, and it protects you from diseases such as cancer.

So an effective and balanced immune response is vital for healing and health.

We have clear evidence that you can use your thoughts, emotions, feelings, attitudes, and self-talk to directly interact with, and influence, your immune system.

What this scientific discovery is showing you is that you have a very powerful mechanism within you that has a significant effect on your ability to self-heal.

And that is, of course, your mind, and what thoughts, emotions, feelings, attitudes, and self-talk you choose to express and program it with.
