Do you worry about things? Many of us do. Do you want to learn how to deal with worry? In this video I’ll show you how to stop worrying.
There are many people who worry and are consumed by the pain and suffering that worry brings.
If you stop for a moment to think about worry however, you’ll come to the conclusion that worry is illogical and it serves no purpose.
Worry is rooted in a fear of some future event that has not happened yet. However when you attach the negative energy of worry to a future event, your mind creates that worrying reality for you in the present moment.
As a consequence, your brain and body experience the ill health effects associated with worry. And as you can see, this is self-induced. If you think a future event will be unpleasant for you, why should you cause yourself to experience that unpleasantness now?
- Where is the reason for making yourself feel bad in the present moment because you are anticipating feeling bad in the future?
- If you have the ability to change a future event and avoid an unpleasurable experience, then what is the point in worrying?
- Alternatively, if you do not have the ability to change a future event and avoid an unpleasurable experience, then what is the use of worrying?
The Negative Impact of Worrying
There are two things worry will do however. Firstly, it will channel negative energy towards the future event in question. And when you come to experience that event, you will experience the energy you sent there too.
Secondly, by worrying, you surround your energy field and being in a very dis-empowering energy. And this does effect you mentally, emotionally and physically. In essence, by worrying, you have chosen to dis-empower yourself.
Your power as the creative spirit that you are exists only within the present moment.
Your past is history, it is a memory. And your future is an illusion of your imagination. And that’s the key word here, imagination.
Because you can use the power of imagination to create a more positive future reality for yourself, if you choose to do so.
So by choosing not to worry, you choose not to live your present moment within a memory. And you choose not to live out your future illusions in the present moment. The only time your physical person will exist is now, in this present moment.
- And your present self is only attached to your past or your future if you choose to focus your mind upon it.
However there is also a deeper spiritual principle you should be aware of when it comes to worry. There’s an old Taoist and Buddhist story known as the farmer and the horse.
How to Deal with Worry Using The Farmer & the Horse
This farmer only had one horse and one day the horse ran away. The neighbours came to give their condolences over the farmers terrible loss.
The farmer replied, “Is it so terrible?”
A month later, the horse came home, this time bringing with her two beautiful wild horses. The neighbours became excited at the farmers good fortune. “Such good fortune”, the neighbours said.
To which the farmer replied, “Is it good fortune?”
One day, when riding one of the wild horses, the farmers son was thrown from the wild horse and broke his leg. All the neighbours were distressed. “Such bad fortune!”, the neighbours said.
“Is it bad fortune?”, the farmer replied.
Soon after war broke out, and every able-bodied man was conscripted into the army and sent into battle. Only the farmer son, because he had a broken leg, was passed by and remained safe at home.
The neighbours congratulated the farmer on his sons good fortune.
“Is it good fortune?”, the farmer said.
- Sometimes things which you would consider to be bad, are actually preparing you for a better future. And sometimes when you lose something good, you’re actually being re-directed towards something better.
So the next time you choose to worry about your past or your future, remember. There’s a positive purpose for every event in your life. No matter whether you think that event is good or bad.
